My map

My map was supposed to take me from here to there,
destination paradise...
Yet, I got lost along the way,
sidetracked down bumpy roads,
reaching deadends,
uncharted trails, too narrow to travel...
no lights to lead the way....
dark places where no stars could reach,
tunnels to crawl through, no time to explore...
such has been my journey,
finding my own way,
making my own map...
it's not the destination that counts,
it's what we learn and discover along the way...
