Unexpected

On the beach tonight,
alone, just thinking....
I do understand
our relationship added
a dimension to our lives
we each were lacking
and we gave to each other.....
I certainly hadn't expected
....this... wonderful gift...
of love....
nor was I prepared....
to lose it....
