I walk slowly
not because I'm tired
but because nobody's waiting
anywhere.
I don't even wear a watch
because I never have to know what time it is.
There isn't a road
or a plane
I wouldn't take
looking to find somewhere brighter
than where I am.
People try to reach me
but there is so little left
I cannot respond.
Yet,
when I stop to talk
or touch
I leave slowly,
not because I'm tired,
but because
nobody's waiting
anywhere
